Nana was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and earned her Master’s degree in Fine Art from Kingston University of London in 2011. In 2019, she returned to the UK to participate in the International Artist Training Program at the Royal College of Art, where she presented her performance art piece Timeline, using melting ice blocks as a medium to explore time and impermanence. During this period, she also completed overseas doctoral credits and became a PhD candidate in Interdisciplinary Art in Taiwan.
She has contributed visual design work to various cultural and performing arts organizations, including Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, the Eslite Culture Foundation, and several children’s theatre groups. In 2013, Nana began integrating natural materials into her creative practice, and in 2014, she received support from Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture to establish her independent floral design studio, Urbanbotany, in Taipei. As a floral artist, she has continued to explore the relationship between nature and art through various forms of expression.
Since 2016, Nana has experimented with pop-up mini exhibitions around the world, using small-format, playful, and versatile artworks to connect with local cultures. Her work has left traces in cities such as Taipei, Seoul, and London.
Now based in Los Angeles, California, Nana is focused on the local wild flora and natural landscapes of the region. She creates miniature illustrations and artworks using organic materials such as stones and plants. She is also a member of Frogtown Arts in LA, regularly exhibiting at their biennial art festivals and engaging in spontaneous dialogues with people and places she encounters.
